Book Illustration

While working as an art teacher, I met and became friends with Kelly Darling, a science teacher. She wanted to write a science-based picture book for elementary school students, and asked if I would be interested in illustrating her words. We have now collaborated on two books; Fishy Tale and Rock Star! Our first book, Fishy Tale, self-published in 2013, is a tale of sea creature classification and was illustrated with watercolor paintings. Rock Star!, self-published in 2015, is a story that describes geology in rhyme. This art for this story is a combination of watercolor paintings and my hand-painted paste papers.
